Frontline volunteers
Can you spare 2-3 hours per week to join our volunteer team of hotel liaison staff?
Part of the Welcome MK response is to provide a constant and available presence for the refugees in both hotels where they are accommodated, right through the week.
First and foremost, this means being a friendly face and getting to know them. This may not seem much but is key to them feeling welcome and safe whilst they stay in the hotel environment. Volunteers are also there to support the hotel and guests (Afghan evacuees) in trying to answer any questions they may have. Of course, we'll equip you with the information you need to provide a helpful response.
Our goal is for there always to be two volunteers in each hotel for each morning or afternoon shift. Feel free to volunteer with a family member or friend if there are two of you who want to get involved.

Support our partners
Welcome MK could not exist without its partners.
It was always our vision that, rather than delivering services ourselves, we would work with and through those with the necessary experience and expertise. By doing it this way, we're making use of existing resources and ways of working, rather than spending precious energy duplicating something that is already in place.
When it comes to our response the arrivals from Afghanistan, the two key providers have been Baby Basics and MK Storehouse. So, if you want to help by making donations, the best way you can support us is by supporting them.
